WHAT IS IT SUPPOSED TO DO; Of the main ingredients, chromium reportedly helps reduce sugar and carbohydrate cravings; citrus aurantium, ma huang, guarana, white willow bark, and cayenne stimulate metabolism; garcinia cambogia suppresses appetite; cascara sagradais a laxative; and uva ursi is a diuretic. The literature says Citrus Diet was “created to help millions of people to manage their weight without the difficulties of a diet. The ingredients have been selected from literally thousands of possible components to create the most favorable combination.” Citrus Diet is advertised as an energy booster, a fat burner, and a tool for weight management.
COMMENTS: This product contains several potentially harmful ingredients, including ma huang (ephedra), which is associated with serious side effects, including death; and cascara sagrada. If you have diabetes and are taking insulin or any antidiabetic medications, consult your physician before taking this or any product that contains chromium. Chromium has the ability to lower insulin resistance, alter the type or amount of medication needed to control diabetes, and change the frequency with which blood-sugar monitoring should be done.
