INGREDIENTS: Each caplet contains: vitamin E, 6 IU; magnesium, 75 mg, zinc, 5 mg; chromium picolinate, 75 mcg. The proprietary blend (728 mg) includes guarana (40 mg naturally occurring caffeine); ephedra (12 mg naturally occurring ephedrines); bee pollen; ginseng root; ginger root; lecithin; bovine complex; damiana leaf; sarsaparilla root; goldenseal; nettles leaf; gotu kola; and spirulina. Inert ingredients include methocel; silica; croscarrnellose; sodium; and magnesium stearate.
HOW TO TAKE IT: Package instructions advise taking 2 to 3 servings per day at least 4 hours apart and no more than 1 hour before a meal. A serving is determined according to body weight. The directions suggest taking 1 caplet and for each 30 pounds over 120 pounds, adding 1/2 caplet. The manufacturer recommends not exceeding 2 caplets per serving or 8 caplets per day. Within 1 hour of taking a dose, a decrease in appetite and an increase in energy level may occur, according to the manufacturer. Each caplet should be taken with at least 16 ounces of water (e.g., 1 1/2 caplets should be taken with 24 ounces of water). The diuretics in Metabolife 356 require this level of fluid intake. The morning dose should be taken before a high-protein breakfast. All meals and snacks should include healthy, nutritious foods.
WHAT IS IT SUPPOSED TO DO: The research documents notes that Metabolite 356 works more effectively when you eat; therefore, skipping meals is discouraged. Consuming small meals and light snacks between is required to help keep a healthy blood-sugar balance and to avoid hunger. The maker claims that Metabolife 356 increases your metabolic rate, decrease your appetite, and burn fat without the need to diet or exercise. The research challenges that losing weight should never exceed 7 to 11 pounds per month. If you slim down quicker, you are asked to reduce your use of Metabolife 356 or raise your food intake.
COMMENTS: This product has ephedra, that is connected with serious side effects, including death. It also contains a caffeine-containing substance, guarana. This combination is likely to cause anxiety, insomnia, agitation, and other reactions. Individuals anergic to bee pollen should note that this product contains an unknown amount. If you have diabetes and are taking insulin or any antidiabetic medications, consult with your physician before taking this or any product that contains chromium. Chromium is able to lower insulin resistance, alter the type or amount of medication needed to control diabetes, and alter the frequency with which blood-sugar monitoring should be done. If you experience nausea, lightheadedness, gas, or dizziness when taking Metabolife 356, it is suggested that you eat one serving of a low- or no-fat dairy food or soymilk within 10 minutes of taking your dose. If the symptoms subside but do not disappear, reduce your Metabolife 356 dose. If symptoms remain, stop taking Metabolife 356. Do not take Metabolife 356 if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or younger than eighteen years; have high blood pressure, diabetes” an enlarged prostate, heart disease, or thyroid disease; or if you are taking an MAO inhibitor or any other prescription medications. The manufacturer’s literature notes that Metabolife 356 has undergone medical safety studies at two independent laboratories and has been tested clinically at two major universities in the United States, although the labs and universities are not named and the results of the studies are not revealed.
